10 Affirmations for a Perfect Wedding

We know the wedding planning process can be stressful and hope that these tongue-in-cheek affirmations will get you through with a song in your heart and a smile on your face.

1) Wearing white makes me look thin.

2) I interact with my future in-laws with serenity and grace, even when Mom-in-law offers suggestions for the wedding day that would make others want to hurl.

3) My maid of honor's blue mullet and 37 tattoos are an expression of her creativity and playfulness. I am lucky to have such a unique individual in my wedding party.

4) My fiance's refusal to get involved in wedding planning represents his trust in my decision-making capabilities.

5) I am eagerly anticipating the security of wearing of a strapless bra for 10 hours.

6) (This one is to be used two days prior to the wedding). This humongous zit on my face is a mark of beauty. Other women will envy its size and proportions.

7) The reason that my period is overdue is simply from stress. Yes....that's it....stress.....it should be here any day now.....

8) My mother gave me life. (Repeat this as often as necessary for those with excessively controlling mothers who also happen to be paying for the wedding.)

9) (To be said when several of your friends show up to the reception with uninvited dates). The more, the merrier! (So what if dinner costs $75.00 a head and you now exceed the fire code limit for your venue!)

10) The wedding lasts a day; the marriage will last a lifetime. (To be said repeatedly for any difficult situation arising on or before the wedding day.)

Very good and very true. My daughter was married yesterday, Friday the 13th. What can I say and to a military man too. Should be an exciting ride. Appreciated your article.
